Our Story
Born from a desire to help African women understand, care for and feel confident in their natural skin.
Before JORA NATURALS became a skincare brand, I was a Makeup Artist.
Working closely with women, I began to notice something that went beyond makeup. Many of the women I worked with were dealing with acne, dark spots, uneven skin tone and other skin concerns.
I realised that while makeup could enhance someone's appearance, it could not address the concerns underneath.

Where It Began
One Product. ₦10,000. One Clear Purpose.
And that was where JORA NATURALS began.
I started with just ₦10,000, one product and a strong desire to help African women feel confident in their natural skin.
From my kitchen, I began creating skincare solutions and learning along the way.
I did not have everything figured out when I started. But I was passionate, curious and committed to getting better.
Learning & Growth
So I listened.
I listened to our customers — their experiences, their questions, their results and their feedback.
I invested in professional training, strengthened my formulation knowledge and continuously refined our production processes and standards.

What started with one product has grown into a skincare brand creating solutions for real skin concerns, including acne, blemishes, hyperpigmentation, dryness and maintaining healthy, radiant skin.
But JORA NATURALS is about more than the number of products we have created.
It is about what we represent.

From a Makeup Artist who saw a need to a Founder building a skincare brand with purpose, my journey with JORA NATURALS continues to be guided by one belief:

Ruth Otakwu
Founder & Lead Formulator
Ruth Otakwu is the Founder and Lead Formulator of JORA NATURALS.
Her journey into skincare began through her work as a Makeup Artist, where close interaction with women exposed her to the everyday skin concerns that makeup alone could not address.
What began as curiosity and a desire to create better solutions developed into a commitment to professional learning, thoughtful formulation and continual improvement.
Ruth has invested in professional skincare formulation training to deepen her understanding of formulation, ingredients, product development and cosmetic compliance.
Her approach to JORA NATURALS remains grounded in a simple philosophy: melanin-rich skin deserves skincare that respects it rather than attempting to change it.
